TUBER FAQ & Policies

Customer Satisfaction

I am committed to ensuring that my customers get the very best of my stock. I spend all winter inspecting my tubers carefully, and ranking them for sales. If I wouldn’t be happy receiving it myself, I don’t sell it. That being said, please open your packages immediately and inspect your tubers when you receive them. Contact me via email at sunshinecreekflower@gmail.com with any concerns.

Limits

I am setting some limits on some of our most sought after varieties, so that more people have a chance to get them. Any variety with a limit is clearly labeled in the product description. Please be courteous to your other dahlia enthusiasts and respect these limits. The website doesn’t allow us to set limitations but if you order more, I will have to refund you for the extra tubers and only tubers within the limit will be sent. Thank you for understanding!

Tuber Shipping

Your dahlia tubers will come packed in a storage medium. It is time to plant when the danger of frost has past in your growing zone. If it isn't time to plant yet, store your tubers in a cool dry place.

Your tubers may arrive with an active sprout. Trim the sprout to 1-2 inches before planting. If it accidentally gets knocked off, don't worry! Your tuber is still viable and will grow new sprouts in it's place.

Refunds
I am a one-woman show with all the dahlia tuber preparations, and mistakes do sometimes happen! If you receive the wrong variety or the tuber never sprouts, I will be happy to issue you a refund. Please contact me by September 1st for any refund inquiries.

We are not responsible for loss of tubers to extreme weather, pests, neglect, or poor growing conditions or practices.

Disease Management On Our Farm

Bacterial and viral disease in dahlias has been a hot topic the past few seasons, as interest in dahlias has exploded, and more tubers are being shipped worldwide than ever before. At Sunshine Creek Farm, we follow the mantra “When in doubt, throw it out”. Any plants with obvious signs of disease are thrown out. In 2022 we tested regularly for TSWV. We sanitize our snips between each plant when harvesting flowers and dividing tubers. While this adds significant time to the process, we do it because we love dahlias, and we want to produce the safest product for your own garden. We release minute pirate bugs to combat thrips, which can be vectors for viral disease between plants.
