I am Sylvia (she/her), and welcome to our farm! This family farm is run by myself and my husband Paul, our children Robin and Elsie, and one dozen silly chickens!
Five years ago we fell in love with this little five acre paradise, nestled in a valley just outside of downtown Gresham. With a woodland full of wildlife, and a babbling creek cutting through the middle, it was the perfect spot to cultivate our passions for permaculture, growing our own food, and revitalizing wild spaces.
I started my cut flower journey with a small patch of cosmos in 2018. I remember how they towered over my head by midsummer, and no matter how much I cut, they kept blooming and blooming. Bringing flowers into the house regularly filled me with so much joy and nostalgia for simple pleasures, I knew I would always dedicate a part of the garden to cut flowers after that summer.
And it turns out I was hooked on cut flowers, and each year the garden has grown and grown, now I don’t know whether to call it a graden or a farm. It is in many ways, a little bit of both. I still love to grow a big vegetable garden so my children can graze on cherry tomatoes and green beans. But we also squeeze in flowering perennials wherever we can, and more beds are popping up all the time for more flowers. Soon enough, I was making bouquets for our neighbors and friends, and expanding my rapidly growing dahlia and rose collection. We are still growing on less than 1/4 acre, but it is enough to generate an avalanche of flowers each year, that I am so excited to share with our community.
Our children and animals play on this land, and we eat the food we grow here, so we are always thinking of the land first. We are committed to 100% sustainable, organic practices that revitalize the earth and rejuvenate soil health. We never use pesticides or herbicides on our farm. We are a proud partner of the StreamCare program through the East Multnomah Soil & Water Association.
Watch this space and watch us grow! We are adding lots of additions to the farm this year. Dahlia tubers, Spring and Summer Bouquet subscriptions, as well as custom bouquet orders May-September. We can't wait to connect and share our flowers with you! ⚘
